The Avett Brothers To Play Sea Island

Sea Island Resort in Georgia is bringing together the best music and food south of the Mason-Dixon for the inaugural Southern Grown Festival, taking place June 19-21, 2015. The three-day festival, filled with brunches, barbeque and bourbon, pays homage to the distinctive culture of America’s South at one of the finest grand dame resorts of the region. Southern Grown will feature a weekend full of events and classes led by more than a dozen award-winning chefs and artisans from Louisiana to Kentucky, and will culminate with an oceanfront performance by North Carolina folk-rock band The Avett Brothers.

Shaky Boots Kicks Up Additional Artists

Shaky Boots Music Festival has added four more bands to its inaugural country music lineup. Rodney Atkins, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Craig Wayne Boyd, and John & Jacob will join previously announced artists Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and many more at Georgia’s only multi-day country music festival, May 16-17, 2015 at KSU Sports and Entertainment Park.

Diamond Rugs’ Cosmetics Arrives

Diamond Rugs are releasing their second record, Cosmetics (Sycamore Records/Thirty Tigers/RED), today. This rowdy follow-up to their 2012 self-titled debut that garnered rave reviews and a much-talked about performance on the Late Show with David Letterman, still features the incomparable collaboration of John McCauley (Deer Tick), Robbie Crowell (Deer Tick), Ian Saint Pé (ex-Black Lips guitarist), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), T. Hardy Morris (Dead Confederate) and Bryan Dufresne (Six Finger Satellite). The record was recorded in Nashville, TN, at Playground Sound Studio and was produced by Adam Landry and Justin Collins. The band is sharing a new song from the album, “THUNK,” to celebrate its release.
