Brandon Flowers To Bring The Desired Effect
BRANDON FLOWERS RELEASES NEW SONG & VIDEO FOR “STILL WANT YOU”
New Album The Desired Effect Out May 19th
Brandon Flowers has released a brilliant new video for “Still Want You”, the second song to be revealed from The Killers frontman’s new solo album, The Desired Effect (out May 19th via Island Records). The video for “Still Want You” was directed by Warren Fu, a long-time collaborator with The Killers who’s also worked extensively with the likes of Daft Punk, The Strokes and Haim. The video is up now on Noisey.
“Still Want You” is available now to all digital service and streaming providers. The song, like the first single from the album, “Can’t Deny My Love” (which is topping the most-blogged charts and hitting radio playlists around the world), shows Flowers reaching a new level of songwriting confidence and having a whole heap of fun in the process.
The Desired Effect is the successor to Flowers’ chart topping 2010 debut solo album, Flamingo. The album was recorded with the producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Haim, Vampire Weekend, Charli XCX), in most part at Battle Born Studios in Las Vegas, with further sessions at Heavy Duty and Vox Studios in Los Angeles. Flowers is joined by a stellar cast of iconic musicians, including Bruce Hornsby, Ethan Farmer, Tony Levin, Kenny Aronoff, The Dirty Projectors’ Angel Deradoorian and Joey Waronker. Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant joins for a brief drive-by in the Bronski Beat-sampling smash-hit-in-waiting, “I Can Change”, while Flowers’ Killers compadre, Ronnie Vannucci Jr, and Haim singer/guitarist, Danielle Haim, both guest on drums.
