BETTE MIDLER SCORES HIGHEST CHART DEBUT EVER
WITH DIVINE NEW ALBUM “IT’S THE GIRLS!”

“IT’S THE GIRLS!” DEBUTS AT #3 ON THE BILLBOARD TOP 200

Multiple Grammy Award®-winning singer and legendary performer Bette Midler scored her highest chart debut ever with the release of her first new studio album in eight years, “It’s The Girls!” The album was released last week on Warner Bros. Records and debuted at #3 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

Earning critical praise, USA Today called “It’s The Girls!” “thoroughly charming” while The New York Times raved the album is “one of her best.” Produced by Marc Shaiman, along with Scott M. Riesett, “It’s The Girls!” celebrates girl groups through the ages and features the swinging sounds of WWII-era Andrews Sisters, to 60’s super-groups like the Supremes and the Shirelles, to 90’s hit makers TLC.

Midler’s breathtaking version of TLC’s Waterfalls became a trending topic on Twitter just hours after the song’s release and leaped to No. 5 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140. Midler performed Waterfalls on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and also performed on NBC’s Today Show and LIVE! with Kelly and Michael.

Midler showcased her comedic brilliance in a new Funny or Die video where she launched a Kickstarter campaign to send herself to the moon to plant a tree. Bette Midler and Jimmy Fallon also had the internet buzzing with their “Lip Flip” duet of the song Baby It’s You, featured on “It’s The Girls!”

Fans will have the chance to see Bette Midler live on her first major national tour in a decade. The tour will feature material from Midler’s iconic career as well as her new album and kicks off on May 8th in Hollywood, FL at The Hard Rock Live. The tour will visit 22 cities nationwide. Tickets will go on sale beginning November 17th and with every ticket purchased online, Bette Midler fans are entitled to a copy of her new CD, “It’s The Girls!”

Additional North American dates and cities will be added. Midler is also set to tour in the UK in 2015. UK dates will be announced at a later date.
