Sled Island Festival Reveals Roster

Joining an already stellar list of artists that includes guest curators Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Sled Island is excited to welcome legendary innovative hip-hop act De La Soul, indie rock deity and past Sled Island performer Yo La Tengo, genre- and gender-defying riot act Mykki Blanco, as well as fuzzed-out garage rocker Colleen Green. These artists join a massive berth of talent in the form of brooding acts like Maica Mia, Scattered Clouds and Neu Balance, indie rippers like Fountain and Beat Cops, furious and heavy bands like Dead Soft, Shooting Guns and Dead Ranch, hip-hop talent from Tory Lanez, Oseko and Rougies Clique, plus weird pop in the form of Look Vibrant, Kappa Chow and Quaker Parents.

Third Eye Blind Offers Dopamine

Celebrated rock band Third Eye Blind has announced the release of Dopamine, their first album in six years, on Tuesday, June 16. Led by frontman Stephan Jenkins, the album is a road-tested collection of songs chronicling the band’s time on tour since their last studio effort, Ursa Major. Employing signature guitar riffs and rock arrangements, Dopamine is vintage Third Eye Blind – a body of work whose songwriting details the personal relationships that have come and gone and the rapidly changing world we live in. A lot can change in six years, and while the sound has progressed, the recordings retain the endearing sentiment Third Eye Blind fans new and old have come to love.

Carl Hall Collection Coming

Carl Hall’s four-octave range first came into prominence on the gospel sides he cut in the 1950s for labels like Vee-Jay and Savoy. His later acting work on Broadway (Inner City, The Wiz, and Truly Blessed: A Musical Celebration of Mahalia Jackson) and in the film version of Hair was renowned. But it’s the soul sides he cut for the Loma and Atlantic labels, with producer Jerry Ragovoy, that are truly sought after. You Don’t Know Nothing About Love: The Loma/Atlantic Recordings 1967-1972 not only fills that need, but delivers in spectacular fashion.

The Oak Ridge Boys Deliver Rock Of Ages
